This is a great video that will help moviegoers increase their radar for insincerity and see through the manipulations many modern films attempt to pull.

It asks “what can writers can learn from superhero films like Wonder Woman and Spider-Man 2 and avoid being like Doctor Strange?” In other words, this video is how comedy is beginning to ruin superhero movies. Sage Hyden presents this in depth presentation about how many of the recent Marvel movies have begun to engage in Bathos, which is just a fancy word for undercutting the emotional tension in their movies by slipping in a cheesy joke at the moment of tension.
