‘Astrates’ a Warhammer 40K Space Marines Fan Film Gets 2M Views

An animator who has a passion for the Warhammer 40k universe has been using Patreon to fund a series of animated shorts that he created that take place in the Warhammer 40k universe. Working under the name Astartes, which apparently is the name of one of the elite detachments of space marines, the talented animator has been posting to YouTube videos of roughly two minutes in length that show professional level quality of animation. The most recent film, “Astartes – Part Four” (which you can WATCH HERE) was released on June 12th, 2019 and, at the time of this writing, has amassed over two million views and over 99%  favorable like ratio

I watched the film and was amazed at the quality of animation as well as how captivating the story is. Unlike traditional story telling, there is no main character. Instead we follow the actions of armor clad space marines who are more or less interchangeable, yet you still can’t help getting emotionally involved.
