Less known among Americans is that Ulysses Grant did a two-year tour of the world post-presidency.

He visited Japan in 1879, met a young Emperor Meiji and helped resolve a dispute with China. It's a beautiful story of cultural exchange.

There are way too many people in this country who mistake the Democrats’ rhetoric with the Democrats’ policies. Democrats are masters of making eloquent speeches about hope & change (think Obama), but when it comes to policy they are a right-wing capitalist and imperialist party.
