If there has been one show, that I have religiously stuck to, it was Gotham on FOX. I began watching the series from the very beginning, season one, and never stopped, I was hooked. The show was not only set in a city that I loved to learn more about, but it included characters, not Batman, but all of his villains and the detectives and police officers that I had grown to love through my reading of Batman and Detective Comics.
Unfortunately, after a sharp decline in viewership throughout season four, viewers learned that Gotham’s fate was to end a bit sooner than I hoped. Gotham was scheduled for only 12 episodes for season 5, basically to wrap it up and finish the story they were telling. In the television industry, 100 episodes is the traditional threshold for a series to enter syndicated reruns, because it allows for 20 weeks of weekday reruns without repeating an episode, and can be sold for higher per-episode pricing. So Gotham can be rerun for years, and I suggest you watch it when you can.
And guys, season 5 blew me away. The producers took the rogues gallery and they went crazy. In my video below, I go over the entire 5th season, discuss the characters and the plots, and generally gush over possibly my favorite show.
