The Green Hornet and Kato have successfully recovered Candice Carbajal from a military base and with her, an alien baby. From a trashed hotel room to a military base and now finally a barn. The duo makes their final stand against the military to protect an innocent alien child and from the military horde.
Much like the previous 4 issues, the conclusion of this story doesn’t skip on the escalation and ‘what?’ moments. Scott Lobdell has seemingly written our heroes in a sure death corner, but that’s not the case. Lobdell has written the kind of funny and unexpected story that you really have to ask yourself; how are they going to get out of this one? Well, much like everything else that’s happened in this story so far I can assure you it’s something you won’t see coming. The art is consistent with the rest of the issues before this, but I think that something that stands out near the end of this issue is the lettering by Anthony Esposito. Without getting into spoilers, there are moments that when a character speaks that is honestly put together very well by him.
While lacking in the level of humor that the previous issues have, this one still leaves you going ‘so that happened’. It’s a fun tie-up of what has been a fun(ny) story. If you’ve started reading this then I recommend you finish it with this because it’s well worth it to see how the Green Hornet comes out on top. I’ll provide a review of the first five issues later this week.
