Variety is reporting that Denis Villenueve’s reboot of Dune will world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 3rd. Villenueve returns to the festival for the first time since 2016 where he took his non-conventional sci-fi film Arrival. Though Dune will not be in competition, it is expected that Warner Bros/Legendary Pictures will fly many of the stars in for the premiere.

Adapted from the Frank Herbert best selling novel, the film is led by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya and has an impressive cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Sharon Duncan Brewster, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.
The film is set to be released in theaters and on HBO Max on October 1st.
