‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Now Ranks Worst Star Wars Content Ever Made

Star Wars has set a new low, smashing one previously held by itself. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Star Wars: The Acolyte has received a the franchise’s worst audience rating of just 14% approval. We’re forced to go by the audience rating these days, ever since it was alleged that the critics scores were being gamed, specifically by Disney.

The previous all-time low audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes for a Disney Star Wars streaming series was 26% – also for The Acolyte, which showrunner Leslye Headland has agreed with the access media that it’s “the gayest Star Wars yet.” Before The Acolyte, the animated Tales of the Empire had the lowest audience rating of any Disney Star Wars streaming series at 49 percent. And in the live-action category, the previous low was 52 percent for The Book of Boba Fett.

Perhaps most surprising, The Acolyte now rates lower in every other project in Star Wars canon, including the much maligned Star Wars:Holiday Special. which first aired on CBS in 1978 and was so embarrassing to George Lucas, he did everything he could to assure it was never seen again except via bootleg and the magic of the internet. The Holiday Special still sits at a 21 percent audience score, which is a full fifty percent increase over The Acolyte.

Of course Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger must have known this show was a dog before they released it, but they’ve spent nearly $200 million on this dog, so they can’t back down now, which is why Kennedy was already pre-blaming male fans for the Acolyte flopping:

“Operating within these giant franchises now, with social media and the level of expectation — it’s terrifying,” Kennedy continued. “I think Leslye has struggled a little bit with it. I think a lot of the women who step into ‘Star Wars’ struggle with this a bit more. Because of the fan base being so male dominated, they sometimes get attacked in ways that can be quite personal.”

The biggest flaw in that excuse is that the population is 51% women, so how does this show rank an abysmal 14%?  And how do other female led films, like Inside Out 2, overperform in spite of this so called “male domination?” John Nolte says it’s because movies like Inside Out 2, Top Gun: Maverick, and Sound of Freedom aren’t “woke garbage,” and the fans aren’t “toxic.” They’re insulted:

…where was the toxic male backlash against Inside Out 2?

The collapse of woke garbage has zero to do with toxic fans or sexism…

Inside Out 2 is a success because it is entertainment made for Normal People… No lesbian witches, no woke revisions of beloved franchises, no lectures, no smuggery, no girlbossing, no guys parading around in a dress, no gay stuff, nothing that breaks the storytelling spell.

After the destruction of once beloved franchises like Willow, Indiana Jones, and now Star Wars, it should be clear that Kathleen Kennedy despises George Lucas’ creations, and especially Star Wars fans. We’re nine years into Disney and Kennedy’s Star Wars reign, and they’ve exposed themselves as political and gender identity-obsessed radicals that simply refuse to give fans what they want: a straightforward epic adventure and classic escapism.

At least the Holiday Special still had the original cast involved. Disney has betrayed Star Wars fans. They won’t be fooled again.
