LA Cinemas Reopening Gave Box Office Numbers Much Needed Boost

Great news for movie theaters, in the first weekend back open, Los Angeles regained its top spot among box offices by cities with a $1.05M haul form 75 polled theaters for Friday and Saturday. Comparing this to New York’s first days back which made $744K for the two days and $1.07M for the full March 5-7th weekend, which L.A. should easily beat when the totals for today come in according to Deadline. This, of course, is a drastic improvement over the previous weekend in L.A. where it was only drive-in theaters open, and the weekend haul was only $107.2K.
