Evil Dead 4 In the Works, But Ash to Be Replaced With a Female Lead

Evil Dead is coming back. Again.

A new film in the horror franchise has been mooted for absolutely ages, never really getting off the ground. But just like you can’t keep a good zombie down, so this film rises again – and we now have a confirmed title.

Bruce Campbell, who played Ash in the original trilogy and TV series Ash vs Evil Dead, states they have found a new director and have a vision for a new film.

Campbell, who also produces these movies with Sam Raimi, said: “We’re just getting off the phone with Lee Cronin, who is writing and directing the next Evil DeadIt’s called Evil Dead Now.

“Sam handpicked Lee – he did a cool movie called The Hole in the Ground. We’re going to get that sucker out as soon as practical.

“From this point forward, they kind of have to stand on their own. Which is fine. And liberating. You could have different heroes, different heroines in this case. This one’s gonna be a little more dynamic.”

Details are currently thin on the ground, but Campbell mentioned it most likely will have a female lead. And that was it.
