Could ‘Swamp Thing’ TV Rise from the Ooze Again? Star Says “Yes”

Ian Ziering, star of the now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t DC Universe series Swamp Thing, believes in the series and said in a recent interview with SYFY Wire that the muck monster and its show may just rise again.

“I think it’s entirely possible,” says Ziering when discussing the power of fan support in bringing back cancelled series to televison. It didn’t quite work for Constantine or Peggy Carter, but it did for Lucifer.

Ziering said the cancellation was “the biggest disappointment of my professional career. … I was reliving my youth, and the fun of the 8-year-old inside of me getting to play the Blue Devil, working with Derek Mears and Crystal Reed, and all the people on that show. James Wan… it was such an unbelievable show. It’s very sad that that ended with 10 episodes, unfinished. I know they had plans for so many.”

Fans were shocked to learn earlier this year that Swamp Thing wouldn’t be renewed by DC Universe for a second season after only the first episode had debuted.
