The first, and surprisingly delayed, movie trailer for the third Thor sequel has landed online.
The teaser features both the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the first look at Natalie Portman as “The Mighty Thor” aka “Lady Thor”. The trailer depicts Thor trying to figure out exactly who he is. He also wants to “choose his own path” as he claims his “superheroing days are over.” There is also an odd sequence with Thor looking flirtatiously at Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, and LGBTQ activists have responded in force online. Otherwise, responses have been all over the place.
Here’s a sampling:

Apparently I’m ace af up the moment I see Natalie Portman as THOR GODDESS OF FUCKING THUNDER and then I become absolutely feral.

Some took the opportunity to promote their own work, while several accounts took the opportunity to celebrate the role Taika Waititi has played in “gaying up” the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
If you ever need someone to deliver an impassioned speech about why the stupid awful fat jokes do not negate the value and importance of Thor/the portrayal of depression in Endgame, I’m your girl.

Taika is out there doing the gay agenda by himself so we don’t have to. He is the moment

I’d like to thank Taika Waititi, for making me a reality and legalizing my rights as a gay trans man

Many pro-LGBTQ agenda accounts seemed especially delighted that Chris Pratt was the object of Thor’s flirtations.
Some more choice takes, probably the last I’m going to do for now. pic.twitter.com/4oJmdySmeM

What’s your take?
To me it looks like a mixed-bag. I enjoyed the first and third Thor movies, but Dark World was just so-so for me. I like the soundtrack choices and the look, but on the whole I’m not a huge Taika fan, since I feel he overdoes the camp aspects and definitely plays into a lot of politics in his pictures. I’m hopeful for an enjoyable film, but willing to wait for home video release on this one, like I’ve done for the previous three MCU films (Black Widow, Shang-Chi, The Eternals).
Tell me what you think of the new Thor trailer in the comments below and if you’re more or less interested in seeing the film after viewing the trailer.
