Watch: New Creed III Teaser as Director / Star Discusses What He Learned On Set


 

 Michael B. Jordan will make his directorial debut with the upcoming boxing blockbuster, Creed III, and while that may seem a daunting task for a first-time filmmaker, Jordan has been given key advice from some of the most successful directors out there. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jordan revealed that he has been speaking with the likes of Iron Man director Jon Favreau and A Star is Born’s Bradley Cooper, both of whom suggested he begin production on Creed III the same way.

 

“One of the greatest advices I got was from Bradley Cooper and Jon Favreau. They was basically like, ‘Get your first shot off as quickly as possible.’ Like, it’s one of the — It can slow down your entire day. You know, if you don’t get that first shot off very early, you’re probably not going to make your day. So, as soon as you get it off, the train is rolling and the machine just won’t stop, so you’ll more than likely get more shots than you [would].”

Creed III picks up five years after Creed II. The official synopsis for Creed III is as follows:

 

After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has been thriving in both his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian (Jonathan Majors), resurfaces after serving a long sentence in prison, he is eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian – a fighter who has nothing to lose.

 

 

 

Released courtesy of the official Twitter account for the Creed threequel, the latest footage once again teases the most difficult, and most personal, battle of Adonis Creed’s career when a mysterious face from his past returns seeking the glory he feels he’s owed. Creed III is directed by Michael B. Jordan, with a screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin from a story they co-wrote with Ryan Coogler. The sequel stars Michael B. Jordan, Jonathan Majors, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Wood Harris, and Creed 2 star Florian Munteanu, as well as Selenis Leyva, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Spence Moore II, Mila Davis-Kent, and Canelo Álvarez. Creed III is scheduled to be released on March 3, 2023, by United Artists Releasing.
