Warner Bros. Unveils First Look at ‘The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’

At last weekend’s Annecy Animation Festival, Warner Bros. debuted three new shots from its upcoming anime film, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.

The War of the Rohirrim, directed by Kenji Kamiyama, relates the story of Helm Hammerhand, an ancient monarch of Rohan whose citadel is named Helm’s Deep. The first image depicts Helm’s daughter, Héra, portrayed by Gaia Wise, while the second shows the film’s villain, Wulf, voiced by Luke Pasqualino. He leads the Dunlending army against Helm’s kingdom. Brian Cox will voice Hammerhead.

It was also revealed at the festival that the anime film’s runtime has expanded, and is now closer to 150 minutes than the originally announced hour and a half. The War of Rohirrim is set to open in theaters on December 13, 2024.
