Uh-Oh: ‘True Lies’ TV Pilot Production Gets Moved

During this years ‘pilot season’, CBS decided to order only one, an adaptation of the 1994 James Cameron film True Lies. Now it’s been reported that the project is going ‘off-cycle’ and will be filming this summer instead of in the spring as most pilots are. The pilot is being written by Matt Nix and directed by McG.

The original film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as a secret agent who discovers that his wife, Jamie Lee Curtis, might be having an affair with a used-car salesman all while a terrorist organization is trying to smuggle a nuclear bomb into the United States. The film also starred Tom ArnoldBill PaxtonCharlton Heston and Eliza Dushku.

While this is the only new drama pilot order CBS has made in 2021, they have two holdovers from last year, Good Sam and Ways & Means, that will be filmed this season.
