In 2020, Marvel studios, DC universe and Sony pictures are releasing several superhero movies. This could make the most significant year in genre’s history. In recent years the number of movies has increased rapidly and this rapid increase in releasing these movies has not only increased their popularity, but they are also doing great when it comes to box office collection (let’s just ignore Birds of Prey, shall we?)

All fans who are eagerly waiting to watch new superhero movies this year must feel lucky because the following are some great movies releasing this year.

VENOM 2

Venom 2 is an upcoming superhero film inspired by Marvel’s most well known Spider-Man villain and is directed by Andy Serkis. It is scheduled for release on October 2, 2020. A direct sequel to the surprisingly successful 2018 film, there is a lot of hype for the sequel. And the producers are trying to make sure that their next movie will meet the expectations of the audience.

WONDER WOMAN 84

From DC, the much-awaited Wonder Woman 1984 is the sequel of 2017’s hit Wonder Woman and hits theaters on June 4, 2020. The trailer received a lot of praise from our readers. Will it deliver on the hype? We will find out this year.

BLACK WIDOW

The Black Widow is in theaters on May 1, 2020. The movie revolves around Natasha Romanova/Black Widow, who is a highly trained former K.G.B. assassin and member of the Avengers. The movie should have been released back in 2004, but due to some uncertain reasons, Marvel decided to shelve it for other plans. But this year, fans will finally experience Black Widow on big screens.

THE ETERNALS

The Eternals is another upcoming movie in the Marvel universe. After the tragedy of Avengers End Game, where is the MCU headed? The Eternals seeks to answer that. These characters were living for over 7000 years reunite to protect humanity from their evil counterparts. We’re not super hopeful this movie will be a hit when it’s released on November 6, 2020.

BLOODSHOT

Hitting theaters this week is “Bloodshot,” based on the Valiant Comics, which makes it the only superhero movie of 2020 that’s not Marvel or DC related. Vin Diesel, famous for his role in the Fast & Furious films, plays the role of U.S. marine Ray Garrison). He and his wife are both assassinated, but a team of scientist resurrects him and upgrades him to make him a super-soldier. The experiment turned out to be a successful one until Ray begins to remember his past life and eventually decides to avenge the death of his wife. Bloodshot will release this Friday March 13, 2020.
