A few years ago, there was an unproduced script called Ballerina that Lionsgate scooped up and decided to tweak to make it a John Wick spinoff.

The film tells the story of a ballet dance turned assassin with Ana de Armas playing the lead. The team John Wick 4 writer Shay Hatten with Emerald Fennell to make the script work in the Wickiverse(?) and it will be directed by Len Wiseman from the Underworld films.

Filming will begin next week according to Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, as stated in an investors call. In just the last few years, de Amras has gotten involved with some big franchises, appearing in Blade Runner 2049, Knives Out, No Time to Die and the most recently she appearing in The Grey Man and starred in Blonde. This should solidify her as a top tier action star.
