Bedazzled Swifties Learn Fate of Taylor Swift’s Rumored Deadpool 3 Role

Taylor Swift does not look to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which will disappoint millions of Swifties worldwide. At least, not yet. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Grammy-winning pop star will not play Dazzler or Lady Deadpool in Deadpool and Wolverine, which hits theaters July 26. EW says that Swift will not feature in the film at all, putting a stop to months of internet speculation and wild predictions based on pictures and teasers.

With the film already featuring several cameos from previous Marvel flicks, an appearance by the world’s most popular singer felt like a no-brainer. The fact that Swift is reportedly friends with Reynold’s wife, actress Blake Lively, heightened speculation about her presence. Her attendance at a Kansas City Chiefs football game last year, with the film’s director, Shawn Levy, fueled the speculations even more. While EW verified Swift’s absence from the picture, they were unable to identify who will play either role in the third Deadpool film.

Meanwhile, fans have spent months dissecting every detail of the Deadpool and Wolverine trailers, picking up on the smallest hints about which previous Marvel stars would make a cameo, attempting to figure out what Deadpool’s latest journey means for the MCU, and who Lady Deadpool’s legs belong to.

Former X-Men cast members like James Marsden’s Cyclops, Halle Berry’s Storm, Famke Jensen’s Jean Gray, and even Vinnie Jones’ polarizing appearance as Juggernaut have all been hinted to in earlier trailers and set images, and the movie expected to span the Marvel multiverse, those rumored cameos could be just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the major guns that Reynolds may have enlisted to ensure that this film delivers in a manner that previous multiverse movies in the MCU have not.

We do know the film will see the return of Deadpool cast members Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapičić, and Rob Delaney. There is still time for one more trailer before one of the summer’s only surefire hits enters theaters, so who knows what other characters might be teased?

Moviegoers will find out in just over a month, when Deadpool & Wolverine premieres on July 26, perhaps altering the canon of the MCU forever.
