One of the characters masochistic Star Wars fans hoped they might see in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series is the accident-prone Gungan, Jar Jar Binks. But when the full cast list was announced last week, Ahmed Best who portrayed the character in the Star Wars prequels, was not on the list. The actor took to social media to thank fans for the interest in his return but to make it clear that he wouldn’t be returning.
Thanks for the love, but I will not be in this series. As much as I would’ve loved to be a part of it. But I’m ecstatic to see folks who I love dearly back together doing great things. https://t.co/5bzLq9yslh

The new series is set 10 years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and is likely to be set on or at least include the planet Tatooine. The folks Best is likely referring to would be returning actors Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse who all appeared in the previous films.
But is there any doubt that with Kathleen Kennedy at the helm, and no assistance from Jon Favreau or Dave Filoni, that the show will certainly spend ample time focusing on the toxic masculinity of Anakin Skywalker?
