I think 2020 is going to be a great year for gamers. Read on as we dive into some of our favorite games coming out this year.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Final Fantasy has been a staple in the gaming world for a very long time. So, you’d be pleased to know that Final Fantasy VII will be getting a remake.
The game first came out in 1997 for the Playstation 1. Now, it’s set to come out as a remake for the Playstation 4.
It’ll be out for you to play on March 3, 2020.
You probably know a bit about the adaptation. It won’t have much turn-based fighting. Instead, it’s said to be fully adventure and action-based with a few RPG elements.
From all the games coming out this year, the Finally Fantasy VII Remake is easily the most popular. This is due to the game’s cult following.
Watch Dog Legion
Watch Dog, although popular, isn’t the most eagerly awaited game out there. However, UbiSoft has decided to create a newer version of it. You won’t be playing as an individual, but as a ‘legion of people’. You and your team will recruit as you fight against the surveillance state.
When it was announced in E3 2019, a lot of people were excited about it.
If you’re wondering when it’s going to be released, Ubisoft has stated it will be out on March 6th, 2020.
Like its predecessor, it will be available on PC devices. You can access Watch Dog Legion on the Xbox and Playstation 4 as well.
Doom: Eternal
Doom took the world by storm when it was first released. A remake was later made available to the public in 2016 and skyrocketed in sales. It did so well that the franchise gave the game another go.
If you’re not familiar with DOOM, it’s a first-person shooter game that boasts superb visuals. It’s extremely fast-paced and you play as a space marine.
Doom: Eternal is set to launch on March 20, 2020.
For all you PC fanatics, it is available to play on the computer as well as consoles. The Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia will all support it. In fact, many are saying it will be the best game of the decade.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing is a game that’s loved by a niche audience. With its cute design and soothing music, you play as a human in a village of animals going about their lives.
The new Animal crossing takes this concept and twists it. Now you’ll be stuck on a deserted island with a group of, yes you guessed it, anthropomorphic animals. You and your furry friends will have to make the island habitable.
Of course, you won’t be stuck there. As the game progresses, more people will join you. It’s your job to make the settlement a thriving community.
The game is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2020.
Unlike the previous one, this is a fully-fledged Nintendo Switch game. The game was only available on mobile devices before. Although its mobile version was well-loved, many people today are hesitant to mobile game.
If you’re wondering what devices it will be available on, it’s only on Nintendo Switch.
Resident Evil 3: Remake
Resident Evil likes remaking their older games. In January 2019, they remade Resident Evil 2. This year, they’re going to be redoing RE 3.
This may be a trend, and you wouldn’t be wrong to expect another remake next year as well.
In the OG third installment, you will see Jill Valentine pick up from where the second game stopped. You will fight her arch-enemy, Nemesis.
In terms of what you can expect, Capcom has stated the remake will be completely different from the original. This will be seen through the graphics as well as the storyline.
If you want to know when it’s going to be released, the Resident Evil 3: Remake will be out on April 3, 2020.
Similar to part 2, it’ll be available on Play station 4, the Xbox One and PC devices.
CYBERPUNK 2077
Are you a fan Keanu Reaves? If you’re like most of us, you’d love to see him digitalized in the Cyberpunk world. The character is voiced by the man himself.
As you can guess from the name, CYBERPUNK 2077 takes place in the future. You’ll play in a futuristic city called Akira. The game is completely role-playing and you’ll encounter a number of different situations. Of course, there’s action as well.
If you’re not a fan of Keanu Reaves being a part of it, you’ll like the fact that singer Grimes is in it as well.
CYBERPUNK 2077 will be out on April 16th, 2020.
You can expect to see it on the PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
When trying it out on the PC, you should preferably have a hardcore device by your side. Otherwise, you may not be able to handle its intense visuals.
The Last Of Us: Part II
Everyone loved the Last Of Us. It focused on the character’s survival after a fungus infected the population, turning them all into cannibals.
The protagonists from part 1, Joel and Ellie make a comeback.
The game differs from the first as it focuses on Ellie’s life after the fungus wreaked havoc.
Unfortunately, the game is only available on the Playstation 4. However, if you’re a fan of the franchise, this won’t be a surprise as Part 1 was as well.
You can expect it to come out on May 20, 2020.
Ghost Of Samurai
This game takes place in 1274. Not many game developers focus on the Middle Ages, so this is something to get excited about.
You play as a samurai defending your country from the Mongols on the island of Tsushima.
The game is from the third-person perspective and has intense swordplays. From all the games on this list, the Ghost of Samurai is easily the most interesting.
As of now, we don’t know the exact release date but it will be out in the summer of this year. You’ll be able to play it on Play Station 4.
Which of these games are you looking forward to? Are there any games you think we overlooked? Sound off in the comments!
