DC Comics Delays Dozens of New Comics Over Supply Chain Issues

Due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on global supply chains, DC has warned merchants that a significant part of its forthcoming shipments would be delayed. The publication dates for 28 forthcoming single issues, as well as five collected volumes, have been changed by DC.

“DC faces an unprecedented strain on the global supply chain, affecting all of us in the comic industry and beyond,” reads a statement circulated to retailers by DC marketing manager Albert Ching on August 25.  “Up to this point, we’ve been able to keep delays and shortages to a minimum, but with recent notifications about covid-related port closures, international and domestic freight delays, workforce shortages, and a severely allocated paper supply, we are unable to continue to manage this situation without disruption.”

Despite the fact that this is the first list, a DC spokesman said that the business is working on it but to “expect further shifts in the future. DC will communicate these moves clearly and quickly.”

DC looks to have opted to push back the digital release dates of these issues in order to keep up with the print versions. Here’s a rundown of the affected comic books, along with their new release dates:
