Comics Discussions: In Praise of DC’s Black Label Imprint

I decided to take a break from comic reviews tonight and wanted to talk about one of the best new imprint lines that I think DC Comics has ever created; their Black Label books!

With few exceptions, the imprint has had almost no bad books so far! From Batman Damned up to Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey! I’ve loved most all of these books! They all have great writing and great artwork! And I feel like their larger page count and larger page size makes their higher price ranges worth it!

DC’s Black Labels are basically a mixture of Elseworlds and Vertigo consisting of original limited series and reprints of books previously published under other imprints. The imprint intends to present traditional DC Universe characters for a mature audience with standalone, prestige-format series. Aside from the original books like The Last God, all of these feature DC Characters and are free from Continuity to tell the stories they want to tell!

In my video below, I go over each of the books so far that are out and explain why they’re all so good! Sound off in the comments below and let me know what you think of DC’s Black Label, what you like, what you don’t like, and which books you’ve picked up!
