Comic books are dying.


This is simply the unfortunate truth of the industry, no matter what your opinion is on how it happened. It’s dying.


The medium has been and continues to be crippled, and we’re seeing comic book shops shutting down across the country. Often times, folks would say that this was an inevitability of the market, but others are convinced that the cause is the poor quality of the product being shipped out. In my mind, it seems as if the latter is far more true than the former, with reports coming in that Dan Didio and Jim Lee are very disappointed as digital sales are plateauing.


I go in depth a bit more in the video below, but let me just say this. There’s a very good reason that they rarely issue digital sales numbers to the public.
