Many defenders of The Last Jedi have suggested that the concept of Luke being in exile was taken from original Lucas concepts for the Sequel Trilogy. The argument suggests that Lucas planned Jake Skywalker all along. But would George Lucas lift material from an EU comic book?
Below is a panel from the 1998 Dark Horse Comics series Tales of the Jedi: Redemption. This particular sequence from the comic book appears to be remarkably similar to a sequence in The Last Jedi.
